KickStart Clinics

It’s that time of year again!

KickStart will be running four sessions of basketball skills and drills exclusively for MLGBA players in Grades 3-8. Sessions will run on Mondays and Wednesdays, with all but one session at Black Rock Middle School Aux Gym.

Kickstart will begin Monday September 21st and conclude Wednesday October 28. (only the Monday September 21st session will be held at Cynwyd Elementary). Just like the last two years, grades 3-5 will go from 6-7:30, with grades 6-8 in the later slot from 7:30-9. 

We are excited that members of the Bryn Mawr College basketball team will be coaching with us again, along with some fan favorite former MLGBA players. 

If you are new to MLGBA, KickStart is a developmental program for young girls that focuses on fundamental skills and lots of game play experience in structured scrimmages and fun games. Many MLGBA players use KickStart to prepare for the season, for travel or AAU tryouts, or to play school basketball. 

Our staff is led by former AAU Director and Coach Erin Rozniakowski. Coach Erin directed Kyniska Hoops from 2009 to 2022. Her assistant coaches are local college players and former MLGBA players, many of whom are now MLGBA coaches. KickStart sessions consist of 45 minutes of drills followed by 45 minutes of competitions. KickStart is a positive but fast-paced environment and the course material is demanding. The focus of sessions is on fundamental and technical aspects of the game and putting them to use during scrimmages. 

Just a warning that KickStart usually sells out quickly and has a waitlist heading into September. Registration is through MLGBA this year at the link below. It is very important that if your child can do Monday or Wednesday, you mark it as such so you can take a spot on either day. If you only put Monday or Wednesday, you could end up on a wait list. You will receive a confirmation email when your daughter is accepted into a session. This year all payments are made through MLGBA and it’s $225 per player, with a $10 sibling discount. Reversible jerseys are included.
